Chole Ki Sabji (Chickpea Vegetable Recipe)

  • 2 cups Chickpeas (soaked with sweet soda or baking soda)
  • 4 Large onions
  • 4 Tomato
  • 2 teaspoons Ginger and garlic paste
  • 1 cup Oil
  • 2 teaspoons cumin
  • 2 teaspoons Coriander powder
  • 2 teaspoons Red chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Garam masala
  • Salt as per taste
  • Coriander leaves to garnish
  1. Soak chickpeas: First of all, soak chickpeas with sodium bicarbonate (baking soda or sweet soda). With this, the chickpeas will boil well and the vegetable will become more delicious.

  2. Boil the chickpeas: Now put the chickpeas in boiling water and boil them well, so that they get cooked and can be eaten easily.

  3. Make tadka: Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. When the cumin seeds splutter, add chopped onions and fry them until they turn light brown.

  4. Mix the spices: When the onion turns light brown, add ginger-garlic paste, grated tomatoes, green chillies, coriander powder, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and garam masala. Mix all the spices and fry well.

  5. Add chickpeas: After frying the spices well, add boiled chickpeas and mix them well and fry.

  6. Serve after salting: Now add salt as per taste and garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
